It's a very merry holiday week for Matthew McConaughey and his wife Camila.

The couple welcomed their third child together in Austin, Texas, on Friday, sources confirm to PEOPLE.

The pair, who are also parents to Vida, who turns 3 next month, and Levi, 4, announced the pregnancy just one month after their June nuptials in Texas.

Camila, 29, joked that even as she put on pregnancy pounds, her actor husband, 43, was losing weight – dramatically – for The Dallas Buyers Club, in which he plays the real-life Ron Woodruff, who contracted HIV.

"We have gone the complete opposite direction eating wise, but we're navigating it," she said last summer. "But I don't really have cravings yet."

McConaughey's latest movie, Mud, will be released April. 26,

Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf, Commander in Persian Gulf War, Dies at 78

12/27/2012 at 08:10 PM EST

H. Norman Schwarzkopf, the Army general who commanded coalition forces in the Persian Gulf War against Saddam Hussein, died Thursday in Tampa, Fla., at age 78.

The cause of death was not immediately known. His death was confirmed to the Associated Press by a source.

Known as "Stormin' Norman" for his volcanic temper, the decorated Vietnam War combat soldier became a familiar face from his many press conferences during Operation Desert Storm in 1991.

Under his leadership during the presidency of George H.W. Bush, coalition forces drove Hussein's troops out of Kuwait, which Iraq had invaded, with relatively few coalition casualties, but the Iraqi leader remained in power.

Hussein would ultimately be left for Bush's presidential son, George W. Bush, to contend with.

After the Gulf War, Schwarzkopf became a television military analyst and went into a quiet retirement in Florida to write his memoirs.

The elder Bush, now hospitalized in intensive care, said in a statement that Schwarzkopf was a "true American patriot and one of the great military leaders of his generation."

"More than that, he was a good and decent man – and a dear friend," says Bush. "Barbara and I send our condolences to his wife Brenda and his wonderful family."

Kate Winslet Marries in Secret

12/26/2012 at 09:10 PM EST

Talk about a Titanic secret.

Kate Winslet has tied the knot with Richard Branson's nephew, Ned Rocknroll, her rep tells PEOPLE.

"I can confirm that Kate Winslet married Ned Rock'nRoll in NY earlier this month in a private ceremony attended by her two children and a very few friends and family," the rep says. "The couple had been engaged since the summer."

According to British media reports, Leonardo DiCaprio gave away the bride in a ceremony so secret that the bride and groom's parents didn't know about it.

The Oscar-, Golden Globe- and Emmy-winning actress, 37, has been dating Rocknroll, 34, (his legal name) since fall of 2011.

In August 2011, she and Rocknroll were on the same Caribbean island owned by Branson when a fire broke out and Winslet rescued Branson's 90-year-old mother.

Winslet previously was married to Sam Mendes and Jim Threapleton.

Jack Klugman, Odd Couple and Quincy, M.E. Star, Dies

12/24/2012 at 07:35 PM EST

Jack Klugman, The Odd Couple and Quincy, M.E. star beloved by TV, movie and theater audiences for five decades, died in Los Angeles on Monday, one of his sons told the Associated Press. He was 90.

"He had a great life and he enjoyed every moment of it and he would encourage others to do the same," son Adam Klugman said of his father, who had lost his voice to throat cancer in 1980 and then taught himself to speak again through breath control.

With Tony Randall on ABC's adaptation of the smash Neil Simon play and movie of the '60s, Klugman played sloppy Oscar Madison from 1970 to 1975 to Randall's Felix Unger, and though they really were an odd couple, offscreen they were adoring friends. Randall died in 2004.

Born in Philadelphia, Klugman started acting in college, and his film credits included the all-star courtroom drama 12 Angry Men. On Broadway he starred as the love interest Herbie in the original production of the quintessential backstage musical, Gypsy, with the legendary Ethel Merman.

Klugman's wife, actress-comedian Brett Somers, costarred on The Odd Couple as his ex-wife Blanche. According to the AP, they married in 1953 and had two sons, Adam and David, and had been estranged for years at the time of her death in 2007.

Besides their sons, Klugman is survived by Peggy Crosby, whom he married in February 2008.

Sandy Hook Shootings: How to Cope

12/23/2012 at 06:00 PM EST

State police personnel lead children to safety away from the Sandy Hook Elementary School

Shannon Hicks/Newtown Bee/Reuters/Landov

The Sandy Hook massacre, in which 20 innocent children and six heroic elementary school faculty members were gunned down last Friday, is particularly difficult for people – even those thousands of miles away from Newtown, Conn. – to process, according to mental health experts.

"This tragedy is so deeply affecting the national psyche, reminding us of 9/11, because of its assault on Norman Rockwell's vision of America," psychiatrist Carole Lieberman tells PEOPLE.

Friday was proclaimed a national day of mourning for those lost a week ago, with a moment of silence called for at 9:30 a.m. Eastern time, as 26 churchbells rang in Newtown and elsewhere. In addition, First Lady Michelle Obama sent an open letter of condolence to the town, saying the entire nation "is holding you in our hearts."

But how do those directly involved with the tragedy find the strength to cope?

To do that, family members who lost loved ones need immediate counseling and to maintain their normal routines. They also need to draw support from other affected families who can relate to what they're going through, says Dr. Stephanie N. Marcy, a psychologist at Children's Hospital Los Angeles.

"I think the people on the ground are feeling a sense of hopelessness because there is no way to justify what happened," Marcy says. "They need to be around other people who have experienced and understand it. If you were all involved together, you can empathize and grieve together."

In many of these families, the remaining children might have survivor's guilt, she adds.

"They rethink what they did that day and wonder if they in some way contributed to the death of a sibling, or they wonder, why did I survive?" Marcy says.

Therapists will need to explain to kids who lost a sibling that their "false belief that they should have been able to prevent it is not correct," adds Marcy.

Children at Sandy Hook may also have Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and will need therapy, Lieberman says.

What to Tell Children

And what do parents whose children were not involved in the tragedy tell their own youngsters about what happened? That, Marcy says, depends on how old they are and how much they know already.

"Kindergarteners and first graders don't need to be told about it unless you think they will hear it somewhere else. For older kids, you have to get to know what they know, answer any questions they might have, and be truthful – but don't say too much," Marcy says. "Say that a person who was having problems, that was sick, went into a school and injured some people for no particular reason. Tell them it would never happen at their school."

"Yes," she adds, "it could happen anywhere. But there's no point in letting your child think that, [because] they may be flooded with fear."

For the adults and children across the country who have been vicariously traumatized, Marcy says, "We need to regain our sense of control, because this type of event makes us feel completely helpless."

Lieberman adds that Americans "are also feeling a generalized anxiety, a fear that no place is safe anymore. They need to talk to friends and family, get involved in championing causes that make society better, to volunteer for charities, and to get psychotherapy if the sadness and anxiety persist."

Drew Barrymore: My Dogs Are So Protective of Baby Olive

Only on People.com

Drew Barrymore, Will Kopelman and dog Douglas

NPG

She may have been a nervous wreck after baby Olive arrived this fall, but the Drew Barrymore could have rested easy because her dogs had everything under control.

"They're so protective of her. They're so sweet," she tells PEOPE of her pups, Douglas and shepherd mix Oliver. "And Douglas, the little blonde one, just comes and licks [Olive's] head, and it's just so goofy and silly and I always say, 'Douglas, is this your baby?' "

The first-time mom, 37, and her husband Will Kopelman were careful when it came to introducing their furbabies to the real baby.

"We brought her stuff home to them to sniff and play with," she tells PEOPLE. "I put her with them right away. I was holding her and protective but there are all these wonderful studies that kids that grow up with dogs have better immunities because of the dander and the pollen. And it's a proven fact that dogs just improve the quality of your life."

In just a few months, Douglas has assumed the role of bodyguard over 10-week-old Olive, whom Barrymore calls "Super Baby" because she sleeps and eats so well.

"He's literally sitting [and] looking out the window," she says, "in, like, a guard dog position."

See If You Can Spot the One Color That Popped on the Carpet This Week

Style News Now

12/21/2012 at 12:00 PM ET

Lauren Bush Lauren Beauty ProductsGetty; Splash News Online; WireImage

Even though we didn’t see as many stars on the red carpet this week as last — it’s quiet in Hollywood this holiday season! — we still saw some strong trends emerge at various events. What were they? Let’s get to it!

Up: Pops of red. You can thank the holidays for this festive mini-trend, which we spotted on Hailee Steinfeld’s purse, Bella Heathcote’s dress and Rose Byrne’s jacket. Adding just a hint of the bold hue to your outfit is an easy way to look all holiday-y without going overboard.

Up: Head-to-toe black. What, are stars sick of sequined dresses already? This week we saw nearly one dozen leading ladies wear all black: Britney Spears, Demi Lovato, LeAnn Rimes, Alexa Chung, Jessica Chastain, Miley Cyrus, Krysten Ritter and Kerry Washington … to name a few. As New Yorkers, we’re always happy to see all-black ensembles en force, and it is a look that’s usually pretty failsafe — and slimming.

Down: Stick-straight hair. Rita Ora was the only woman we saw with pin-straight locks this week; everyone else went for bouncy curls and elegant updos (and cropped cuts, if you count Miley Cyrus!). With Christmas and New Year’s Even upon us, we predict we’ll be seeing a lot more exciting hairdos and less of the minimalist straight looks.

Tell us: Which color are you more likely to wear at the holidays: red or black?

Tamera Mowry-Housley Is 'Adjusting' to Motherhood

Tia and Tamera Mowry Launch New Website Justin Lubin/NBC

We’ve enjoyed following along as Tamera Mowry-Housley and Tia Mowry-Hardrict have tackled work, weddings, pregnancies and babies on the last two seasons of their hit reality show, Tia & Tamera, airing Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST on Style.

Now the actresses are bringing their talents to the digital realm with the launch of their new website, TiaAndTameraOfficial.com.

Featuring regularly posted videos and blogs, the online destination will cover everything from tips on living and healthy balanced lifestyle to giveaways to insights on love, marriage, sisterhood, motherhood, style and home décor.

“We are so thrilled about this opportunity to interact directly with our fans,” Mowry-Hardrict tells PEOPLE. “Our audience will be able to find out tips and tricks on balancing it all while still raising a healthy and happy family.”

Add Mowry-Housley, “We’ll also be giving advice on the latest fashion and beauty trends as well as a behind-the-scenes glimpse into our lives as actresses, wives, sisters and most importantly, working moms.”

PEOPLE.com recently had the opportunity to chat with the sisters and new moms — Tamera and husband Adam Housley welcomed 5-week-old son Aden in November, while Tia and husband Cory Hardrict are parents to son Cree, 17 months — about their new venture.

Congratulations on the launch of your website! When you were in the planning stages of putting this together, what items or sections did you just have to include?

Tia: I knew that I really wanted to incorporate something that had to do with fitness and health, mainly because they are both such important components of my life. Three years ago, I decided that fitness and health were things I was going to take the time to devote myself to.

It all started with my endometriosis diagnosis and being fearful that I wasn’t able to have children. I went ahead and started to be very conscious about what goes into my body. I was able to have a baby, and the endometriosis went away. That’s why it was extremely important to me to have the healthy living section on the site.

Tamera: I had to include a section about being a mommy and have a section focusing on sisterhood, because that is what my sister and I love sharing about ourselves. There is so much to be learned. I also wanted our site to be a place where we can post our personal pics — not just glam shots. I believe that’s what makes us relatable.

What is your favorite feature on the site?

Tamera: I love that we get share insights about what we love to do — cooking and crafting. Just being able to speak from our hearts to our fans was important to us.

Tia: My favorite features are the videos my sister and I will have. We really want to allow our fans to come into our personal world and we felt that having intimate videos from us, for them exclusively was very special.

For example, we both made welcome videos for the site and my video was of me on the set of my new pilot, Instant Mom. No cameras were allowed on set, but I was able to give my fans a glimpse of something they won’t be able to see anywhere else but our website.

Now that you both have sons, you have a whole new audience you can appeal to as moms. Both having had the opportunity to write directly to your fans with your blogs (Tamera for PEOPLE, Tia for iVillage), is there anything that you’ve taken away from the experience and hope to incorporate into your new website?

Tia: My whole thing is that motherhood is a learn-and-go process, and motherhood is hard. I personally feel that we as moms have to come together to learn from each other and share experiences, and that’s one thing that I absolutely loved about blogging for iVillage, and now I am going to be able to start blogging for my own website. I love that I will get to share my experiences, and have a place where other moms can share their experiences as well.

Tamera: Yes, whether you’re a first-time mom or veteran, we are always learning from each other and striving to be the best moms we can be to our children. To have that outlet and feel like we aren’t alone in being moms, which is the hardest but most rewarding job on earth, is important. We can all relate to each other.

What can we expect from the last two episodes of this season’s Tia & Tamera?

Tia: You’ll get to see what’s next in our lives, whether it’s from an acting perspective or an entrepreneurial perspective. My sister and I have been working on a product that is supposed to be released in 2013, and you’ll get to see a little of that process.

You will also see me move forward with my endeavors as an actress since I am no longer doing The Game. And there will also be some special, intimate moments about my sister’s birth and then you’ll get to see Aden!

Tamera: You’ll see the journey of my son’s birth and a really cool new business venture my sister and I are proud to be a part of. It’s a product called Milky; a supplement that helps breastfeeding moms produce more milk. And believe me — it works!

Tia, how are you enjoying being an aunt? What does Cree think of his new cousin? Any new milestones for him now that he’s almost 18 months? Can you tell us a little about Instant Mom?

Tia: I am having so much fun being a new aunt! It is just amazing, and now I understand the love that my sister has for Cree; the love is so strong and so deep. It’s so beautiful. Aden is so precious and so sweet, and to see Cree interact with him is just so special.

Cree absolutely loves books! He just loves to read and discover new things, and he loves to dance! He’s also learning new words and he can say ball, nose, eyes and toes.

Instant Mom is a pilot that I am co-producing with Aaron Kaplan. I’m so excited about this project, and to be an executive producer on this series is so rewarding.

It’s about a woman named Stephanie, who has married a cardiologist who is 10 years her senior. Before getting married, her life was very much Sex and the City. She loved to drink and hang out with her girlfriends, and then all of a sudden she gets married and is taking care of her husband’s kids when their mother has to go take care of the grandmother.

It’s so adorable and the cast is so talented. Michael Boatman plays my husband, and these are some of the most talented kids I have seen on television. I shot the pilot and it was a really great experience!

Tamera, how are you adjusting to life as a new mom? Has anything surprised you yet? How is Adam as a dad? Can you share one of your favorite moments with Aden so far?

Tamera: I am … adjusting. Ha! It’s probably the hardest adjustment I’ve experienced. Parenting is hard work. And anyone who doesn’t say that isn’t being honest. I give them the side-eye or they must not be human! Each day is different — some are easier than others, but it’s all rewarding. I never knew how much I’d worry.

Adam is an amazing father. He always steps in when I need it the most. He loves being a dad. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him happier. The love he has for his son is just so beautiful. Additionally, he constantly tells me how beautiful I am when I seriously walk around in the house looking like a hot mess. He’s a good husband!

My favorite moment with Aden so far is when I saw him smile for the first time. He was so milk drunk. It was the cutest thing ever. It made me feel like, “Yeah, Mommy has some good-tasting milk.” Like a boss!

Blake Shelton Says The Voice Winner Cassadee Pope Can Do Anything

The Voice

Cassadee Pope and Blake Shelton

Cassadee Pope won Tuesday night's The Voice competition, and already her team leader and star mentor Blake Shelton says she has the right frame of mind for success.

Even as last week, when her rendition of "Stupid Boy" went No. 1 on iTunes, she was nervously telling Shelton her time on the show was over – much to his chagrin.

"That's what makes an artist," Shelton praised her after the results were announced Tuesday night. "We are never satisfied. But I hope she's really happy that she won."

Pope, 23, who beat out finalists Terry McDermott, who came in second, and Nicholas Davis, who was third, said after her victory that she's eyeing a crossover record as her first professional effort.

"I would love to do the pop/rock thing, but I know that I gained some amazing country fans and I know how hard it is to get into that world," the Florida native said. "I'd love to add a country music element to it a bit. I used to cover country music when I was a kid and it's stylistically part of my voice somehow."

Shelton said the versatile Pope can take many directions for her future success in music.

"She's got a lot of options," he said. "She's adored by rock fans, pop fans, country fans. She connects with a lyric the way few people can. The door is wide open."

Season 4 of The Voice premieres March 25, 2013, with Usher and Shakira joining Shelton and Adam Levine as team leaders.

Kristen Stewart is once again saying she's sorry.

A few months after publicly expressing regret over cheating on boyfriend Robert Pattinson with her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, the actress has some words for everybody else.

"I apologize to everyone for making them so angry," the typically press-shy On the Road star, 22, tells Newsweek. "It was not my intention."

Stewart, who has been the subject of both vitriolic criticism and tremendous support from fans, adds, "It's not a terrible thing if you're either loved or hated."

But at the end of the day, the former Twilight star is primarily focused on her craft.

"I don't care [about people's opinions]," she explains. "It doesn't keep me from doing my s–––."

Addressing her most famous role, that of Bella Swan in the Twilight franchise, she says, "The only relief when it comes to Twilight is that the story is done ... I start every project to finish the mother––, and to extend that [mentality] over a five-year period adapting all of these treasured moments over four books, it was constantly worrying."

As for always being know to a generation of moviegoers as Bella, she says, "As long as people's perspective of me doesn't keep me from doing what I want to do, it doesn’t matter.”

Daniel Inouye, Hawaii's nine-term Democratic Senator and the highest-ranking Asian-American politician in American history, died Monday at age 88 of respiratory complications.

His office said the Honolulu native's last word was "Aloha."

A lawyer, he became the first Japanese-American elected to the House in 1959, the same year Hawaii became a state. Three years later, he was elected to the Senate, eventually becoming the second longest serving member after West Virginia Democratic Sen. Robert Byrd, who died in 2010.

He gave the keynote address at the contentious 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago, served on the Senate Watergate Committee, whose hearings led to President Nixon's downfall, and chaired the committee investigating the Iran-Contra Affair during the Reagan Administration.

Drew Barrymore's Baby & Miley Cyrus's Outfit Get Readers' Top Reactions

Drew Barrymore and Olive. Miley Cyrus

Michael Tran/Filmmagic

We love knowing what's on your mind when you read articles on PEOPLE.com, and as always, you gave us plenty of great feedback this week.

Your emotions ranged from "aww" at the photos of Drew Barrymore's daughter Olive, to "ugh" when it came to Miley Cyrus's questionable outfit choice. You also mourned the loss of a legend, singer Jenni Rivera.

Keep letting us know what's making you smile, frown, or LOL each week by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of every article.

Love You were nearly as thrilled to welcome Drew Barrymore's baby as the proud mom herself! The actress is over the moon about her new daughter Olive, and describes her feelings for her little as "like the biggest crush I've ever had in my life!"

Wow You were highly impressed by professional builder Johan Huibers's latest creation: A full-scale replica of Noah's Ark. The wooden vessel – which is 427 feet long, 95 feet wide and 75 feet high – is a feat of, well, biblical proportions!

Sad You were heartbroken over the news that Mexican-American singer Jenni Rivera was killed in a plane crash shortly after takeoff early Sunday. Rivera, who was known as the Diva of Banda and sold over 20 million albums worldwide, was 43. Her family is also mourning the tragic loss.

Angry Miley Cyrus didn't leave much to the imagination with a revealing outfit worn on stage at a concert in Hollywood. Readers were angry about the young starlet's ensemble, which consisted of tight pants, knee-high snakeskin boots and a peekaboo top that showed more than just a little cleavage.

LOL Well, this is awkward. You weren't too upset about Track Palin filing for divorce from wife Britta Hanson after a year and a half. Their parting made readers LOL. Palin, the oldest son of former Alaska governor Sarah Palin, and Hanson were former high school sweethearts.

Check back next week for another must-read roundup, and see what readers are reacting to every day here.

Hugh Hefner's Engagement Ring to Crystal Harris Revealed

12/11/2012 at 07:00 PM EST

The wedding's back on – though it may be a good idea to save that gift receipt.

Hugh Hefner, 86, officially confirms that he is once again engaged to Crystal Harris, 26, telling his Twitter followers, "I've given Crystal Harris a ring. I love the girl."

And to prove it, Harris posted photos of the big diamond sparkler, calling it "my beautiful ring."

Neither announced a wedding date, though sources tell PEOPLE they're planning to tie the knot at the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles on New Year's Eve.

Whether that still happens remains to be seen.

This is the plan they had in 2011 – a wedding at the mansion – except that Harris called it off just days before the nuptials were scheduled to happen in front of 300 invited guests.

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill Kick Off Special Series of Las Vegas Shows

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill looked at each other, their hands on each others knees and shared a passionate kiss just after midnight Sunday morning.

The moment was a long time coming – it capped off their first weekend as a Las Vegas headlining act.

Earlier in the 90 minute show, McGraw told the crowd at the Venetian that he and his wife were going to "have fun tonight" and it genuinely seemed like they did, singing with each other for several songs while still letting the other perform their solo hits. Though the show – called the Soul2Soul series – is technically not the same "residency" show Las Vegas is known for, the couple will perform for 10 weekends through April.

At a press conference several months ago, McGraw and Hill promised a "personal" show, and they delivered in a big way. In fact, it got very personal as McGraw complimented his wife on her flowing black dress, saying, "It's gonna look good on the floor later."

The duo also took a moment to sit down and speak with the crowd. Though they didn't field any questions, they spoke about the most common questions they get asked. "We always get asked what was the music we heard first, who influenced us," Hill said.

Rather than answer it, the duo then sing a few of their main influences – Hill sang George Strait; McGraw sang The Eagles.

"I love doing other people's music, better than my own," McGraw joked.

With few bells and whistles, the show puts the focus squarely on it's two superstars, and considering the rousing ovations McGraw and Hill received Saturday, that's perfectly fine with their fans.

After a year of professional highs – and personal lows – Jason Aldean is looking forward to a quiet holiday with family.

"I'm on the road so much during the year, so what I look forward to the most is being home with my family, " he told PEOPLE at the taping of the CMT Artists of the Year special (airing Saturday at 10/9 CT), where he walked the red carpet hand-in-hand with his wife, Jessica.

Aldean says being with Jessica and their daughters – Keeley, 10, and Kendyl, 5 – and doing "things like taking the girls to the mall to shop or to see Santa Claus" are on his holiday must-do list. "Things that simple to me are really cool."

Looking back at 2012, some highlights for the country star include releasing a chart-topping album and playing sold out stadiums.

But Aldean also faced personal hurdles when photos surfaced showing him getting affectionate with another woman. Still, for the singer, who publicly apologized for his behavior, life is good.

"This year, the tour went really well, the album has done really well, and good stuff has definitely outweighed the bad," he says. "All that other stuff is kind of in the past and we're just looking to have a great year in 2013."
